The Learning Center (TLC) at All Saints Episcopal School is a specialized school-within-a-school model designed for students in grades 1-8 with dyslexia and other language-based learning differences.
TLC combines intensive, evidence-based, multisensory instruction with the rich academic, social, and community experiences of an All Saints education. Students receive targeted instruction in a small-group setting while remaining fully connected to their grade-level peers and participating in the traditions, enrichment opportunities, and experiences that make the All Saints community special.

During its inaugural year, The Learning Center is intentionally focused on developing a strong foundation in reading and written language.
Instruction is explicit, systematic, diagnostic, and responsive to each student’s individual learning profile. TLC utilizes dyslexia intervention programs developed through Scottish Rite for Children, including Take Flight, BUILD, JET, and Write Idea, while thoughtfully integrating other evidence-based structured literacy practices.
Students receive instruction targeting areas such as phonological awareness, decoding, encoding, fluency, vocabulary, comprehension, handwriting, sentence construction, and written expression.
The Learning Center has been designed as a program that will grow thoughtfully over time.
Year One: Literacy Foundations
Our inaugural year centers on intensive, evidence-based instruction in reading, spelling, and written expression while establishing the instructional systems, assessment practices, and individualized learning plans that form the foundation of TLC.
Year Two: Multisensory Mathematics
As the program develops, TLC plans to expand its specialized academic instruction to include multisensory mathematics, providing students with explicit, concrete, and conceptually based instruction designed to strengthen mathematical understanding and reasoning.
Future program development will continue to be guided by research, student needs, and the mission of All Saints Episcopal School.

No two learners follow exactly the same path. Ongoing assessment and progress monitoring help our teachers identify areas of strength, pinpoint specific needs, and adjust instruction as students grow.
Rather than viewing literacy as a collection of traditional grades, TLC emphasizes skill development and mastery. Students are encouraged to understand what they are learning, celebrate progress, and see themselves as active participants in the learning process.
Within a small, supportive environment, students build the confidence, strategies, and self-awareness needed to navigate challenges, advocate for their needs, and become increasingly independent learners.
Specialized instruction requires specialized expertise. All Learning Center Lead Teachers will participate in an IMSLEC-accredited training program that prepares them to pursue Certified Academic Language Therapist (CALT) certification through the Academic Language Therapy Association (ALTA).
Our teachers combine specialized training with assessment data, careful observation, and responsive teaching to make informed instructional decisions and thoughtfully meet the needs of each learner.

The school-within-a-school model allows students to receive intensive instruction within TLC while continuing to participate in the broader life of All Saints. Students remain connected to their peers and teachers and participate in opportunities such as science, physical education, chapel, lunch, recess, special events, traditions, and other experiences within their grade-level community.
At The Learning Center, we believe students thrive when expert instruction, high expectations, belonging, and an understanding of the whole child come together.
Each Child, Each Day.

Families interested in the Learning Center are encouraged to contact our Admissions Office to learn more about the program and the admissions process.
Admission to the Learning Center follows a process similar to the All Saints admissions process, with additional steps designed to help us better understand each student’s individual learning needs and determine whether the Learning Center is the appropriate educational setting and support for them.
Because the Learning Center provides a highly individualized educational program, specialized instruction, and additional resources and support, tuition for Learning Center students is higher than the standard All Saints tuition.
Our Admissions Office is happy to answer questions, explain the additional steps in the process, and provide families with information about tuition and associated costs as they consider whether the Learning Center may be a good fit for their child.
